Eat (Tabe) and Travel (Tabi) throughout Chiba in one location.
Japan’s country-wide freeway system is dotted with parking areas are rest stops for wearing travelers and contain unimaginative food courts and shops selling cheap souvenirs. When we were approached to take over a parking area in Ichihara, Chiba - a couple of hours out from Tokyo - we decided to make it into an exciting and Chiba-centric facility. Chiba is a prefecture and peninsula to the east of Tokyo and is blessed with a geography that features forested mountains in the interior and a vast shoreline that provide for an abundance of fresh vegetables and fish. TABE (eat) TABI (travel) MARKET BOSO FOOD CENTER contains a food court with our popular WIRED CAFE brand, several original food stalls that use all ingredients from Chiba, and a shop selling various local goods from around the prefecture.
We traveled around the smallest corners of Chiba prefectures to find all the unique food stuffs and souvenirs that are made and can only be found in Chiba and we brought them all together in this shop. Everyone knows Chiba is famous for its peanuts, but here you’ll constantly be surprised by the vast abundance of goods that this prefecture provides.
HARAKUCHI BAKERY uses a stone oven to to bake fresh bread every morning. Harakuchi is country slang for being full, and we want everyone to fill their bellies with our delicious breads. We use Chiba’s famous milk and peanuts in our popular Peanut Cream Bun, which can only be bought if you come all the way out to Ichihara.
